Dennis Curling. I have worn glasses everyday from the age of 5/6, so for about 76 years. When about 3/4 years ago my optician advised me that my cataracts were becoming cloudy due to my age, but it would take time before I would need surgery. Around 3 months ago I decided, to improve my quality of life and have my eyesight improved. i contacted the Anderson Eye Care Team, who were all brilliiant , caring and very helpful indeed, nothing was too much trouble for them! I had an initial consultation with Mr Anderson, which was about 2 hours and very thorough indeed. He clearly explained all my options and what the surgery would involve. My questions were answered and fully explained at every stage.Within 4 weeks my appointment was booked for both eyes on 31 Jan 2025. The whole process was simply first class, from the reception at Nuffied Health Wessex, to the pre - operation procedures and the actual the surgery itself. Every member of the Anderson Eye Care team, on the day were just briliant, so caring and reassuring. I was very relaxed, had total confidence in every one. The whole whole process was pain free and totally completed in about 30/40 minutes. I could also see reasonabley well. but not to drive. My wife was able to collect me after about 3.5 hrs, when the nurse explained to us the eye drops after care procedure. My advice to anyone considering cataract surgery. Would be, do not delay, just go ahead and have it done.You will will not regret it. Going forward you will be able to see a completely new vivid and bright new world. With Anderson Eye Care. I can heartily recommend Mr David Anderson, his team and the staff at Nuffield Chandlers Ford. David combines tremendous knowledge and skill with real warmth and approachability. I had been concerned that my previous laser treatment for myopia (20 years ago) and my unusually long eyeballs (!) would make cataract surgery challenging but David assured me of a good outcome. After two quick and painless procedures my eyesight is now perfect. The results are truly extraordinary. Anderson Eyecare were amazing, so efficient with fantastic results, my daughter and I had our treatments together, she can now go on holiday without worrying about losing contact lenses in water parks, jet skiing etc and I can stop hunting for reading glasses every day! I had a +5.50 prescription, and a squint. I had worn glasses for almost 40 years and I knew no different. I had previously seen 2 other clinics over past 20yrs for assessments and both said technology wasn't advanced enough yet to treat me. When I found Dr. Anderson I noticed he was a details man, and in my consultation I learned more about my eyes than ever before and instantly knew when he said he could perform Complex Lasik that he was the man for the job. Was able to book in within a month, and every check, touch point was slick and seen less right through my care. The op went as well as could be expected and was made to feel at ease throughout. The aftercare was well explained to me and I went home wandering what was in store for me, as this was the bit that made me most anxious. There's a lot of eye drops for the first few days and it feels dry and scratchy, but never once experienced pain during op or post-op. Next day post-op I tested 20/20 and although was a little blurry, I could see and drive etc. After 2 weeks the dryness improved somewhat, and by 6 weeks I felt great. Fast forward 3 months and just had my final check up, absolute precision by Dr. Anderson, can see better now than I could with glasses. Thank you for the life changing freedom that this op has given me, it has improved my vision, confidence, appearance, balance, compensatory and rotational factors of the head and neck and all associated pains.

Excellent at every stage of the process from booking an initial consultation to having Lens Replacement Surgery to follow-up. David was brilliant as was the rest of his team. I have keratoconus and have previously only been able to function when wearing piggyback contact lenses. If I was unable to wear them for any reason I was effectively blind. Now, my sight is so improved that I can manage with just glasses

Mr Anderson carried out surgery on both my eyes on 12 April. I was very anxious at the thought of having any surgery to my eyes. However I was very aware that something had to be done to improve my sight now and for the future. At our initial meeting Mr Anderson took on board my concerns. He was very professional and caring and listened to all I had to say. He made recommendations for my surgery and explained in very understandable terms the reasons for making them, answering my questions as we went along. I felt that I was in safe hands and was completely reassured. Having had the surgery I have to say that I now realise that I had nothing to be anxious about – easy to say in hindsight, I know. I can now see better than I have been able to in 50 years and wish that I had undergone the surgery earlier. Thank you Mr Anderson, you are a complete star. Without a doubt the best thing I’ve done, couldn’t see a thing without my glasses, as soon as Dr Anderson and his team performed the laser surgery I could see.No pain during the procedure and only a little for 24 hours afterwards, cannot speak highly enough of Dr Anderson he’s completely changed my life,will never be able to thank him enough.

Mr Anderson and his team were outstanding throughout the entire process. As someone who trains combat sports regularly (Muay Thai & MMA) the SMILE procedure has been nothing short of life changing for me. I started on a prescription of -4.5 and -5.25... 2 weeks on from the procedure and I was back training, with better than 20:20 vision in both eyes. It has been one of the best decisions I have ever made, I can’t recommend Mr Anderson and his team enough!
