Why Travel to Jersey?

In 2018 we were delighted to offer a major update to our laser facility and created a Zeiss laser suite based permanently at Nuffield Health Wessex Hospital in Southampton.

We were the first to bring this technology to the South of England enabling us to offer newer treatments for vision correction including SMILE and PRESBYOND as well as LASIK and LASEK (or ASA).

These facilities are truly world-class and are available at only a few locations within the UK. We are also able to offer advanced therapeutic treatments such as topography-guided laser and ICR surgery for conditions such as Keratoconus.

Our laser facility sits within Nuffield Hospital Wessex which consistently wins accolades for safety and quality:

You will enjoy excellent facilities and will always be allocated a private room with en-suite facilities for your treatment, we have never used shared bays unlike many other providers as our focus is always on individual care.

For cataract and intra-ocular surgery we also provide in and out-patient facilities at Nuffield Health Hospitals. If surgery is required for both eyes, we can schedule procedures a few days apart so that you have the choice to return home between procedures or stay for both minimising travel.

There is no medical restriction on flying immediately after cataract surgery or laser vision correction.

Interesting Facts about Jersey.

Jersey, the largest of the Channel Islands, is a truly unique gem nestled between the south coast of England and northern France. Known for its stunning coastline, historical landmarks, and rich blend of British and French influences, Jersey offers more sunshine than anywhere else in the British Isles. Visitors are drawn to its medieval castles, charming fishing villages, and of course, its world-famous Jersey cows. With its own government, culture, and even a traditional language called Jèrriais, the island has a character all of its own.

Jersey gained international fame in the 1980s as the picturesque backdrop for the hit BBC detective series Bergerac. Starring John Nettles as the brooding but brilliant Detective Sergeant Jim Bergerac, the show showcased the island’s beauty in every episode—from the bustling streets of St. Helier to the dramatic cliffs and tranquil beaches. Bergerac’s vintage Triumph Roadster became almost as iconic as the island itself, helping boost tourism throughout the decade. Excitingly, Bergerac is set to return to screens with a brand new series in 2025, bringing the beloved detective drama back to Jersey and introducing its magic to a whole new generation of viewers.
